Belly Flop. The Story of a Teen Pregnancy
German, Edition Moderne, 2025
Noemi just knows she’ll never get pregnant: skinny chicks can’t have kids. But the impossible happens: she’s 17 and with child.
In addition to her own fears and inner conflicts, Noemi must also confront all the voices from outside: her family, her boyfriend, teachers, doctors, even strangers in the street all know better than she does and don’t hesitate to say so.
With bitter humor and bright colors, Dufner shows how Noemi, never taken seriously and so often a supporting character in her own pregnancy, wrests back control of her own body and story.
