Rosa and Amir

Elena Maspoli

Italian, Istituto Editoriale Ticinese, 2025

Rosa and Amir love each other, but being together is not always easy when you come from different cultures. During the days spent in her flower shop, Rosa reflects on her relationship with her partner and on the dedication required to make trust, affection and… plants flourish.
In telling the story of Rosa and Amir, Elena Maspoli sensitively transposes an autobiographical story into a narrative that is both profound and accessible, delicately addressing issues that are important to society. The choice of a flower shop for the comic’s setting allows a sublime subtext to emerge about the dedication required to cultivate both living beings and relationships.
