Jérémie Gindre invites us to take part in a raffle consisting of seven short stories. These seven stories differ in length, setting and characters, but are linked together by numerous connections and echoes: the sparse details of the descriptions, the strange distance between the narrative voice and the characters, the pleasure in the rambling anecdotes that disrupt the calm flow of events and a discreet, delicate nonchalance between the lines that isn’t lacking in humour – for example, when a story is interrupted like a sneeze interrupts a sentence.

The collection of stories has the rare quality of being more than the sum of its parts. It invites us to lose ourselves, explore and discover, from story to story, how meaning changes depending on the reference. In this raffle, both the author and we, the readers, win the grand prize. He receives the awards; we receive a poetry of fine nuances.
