As a prodigal son and wannabe cannibal, as an admirer of Rimbaud and an impetuous lover, “Pommi” fights his way through a world that hardly gives him a chance.

With this novel, Lioba Happel succeeds in creating a linguistically powerful and deeply human grotesque. Pommi confronts the exigencies of his existence with force and wit and a tremendous will to assert himself.
